I am not a fan of Facebook, and regrettably Instagram has been spamming me with suggested posts and advertisements that I am not interested in. Really, I just love photography and want to see my friends’ photos and share my own. I also wanted to predict what the next big thing is gonna be with the kids, you know, keep my finger on the pulse or at least look alive. It was recommended that I check out the web app, Vero. I signed up for it a few weeks ago, but I honestly haven’t had a moment to try it. It’s free, without stealing your data, you get to control who you follow rather than what the algorithm decides, and no pesky ads! Billionaire Ayman Harir funded it himself. It’s really hard to tell if or how he is making money off it. If I understand correctly, I think there’s money to be made eventually by affiliated marketing and commissions made off products sold, or by influencers recommendations and promotions on people and products.
